What to expect in Avcılar
Avcılar is a residential district on Istanbul's western edge, squeezed between Küçükçekmece Lake and the Sea of Marmara. It grew rapidly along the D-100 highway, the old E-5, and most of it is apartment blocks and newer residential complexes rather than historic streets. Istanbul University's Avcılar campus gives parts of the district a large student population.
Visitors usually come for family, study or work rather than sightseeing, as the main tourist sights are a long ride east. Ambarlı, in the south-west, is dominated by its port, while the strip near the coast around Denizköşkler is where locals head for a seaside walk.
The terrain is mixed. The coastal strip is fairly level, but some inland neighbourhoods climb noticeably away from the highway, and crossing the D-100 itself usually means a footbridge or underpass. It is worth checking how your building's entrance connects to the street before you arrive.

Getting around Avcılar with a wheelchair
The Metrobüs is the backbone here. It runs along the D-100 with several stops in Avcılar, continuing west to Beylikdüzü and east towards Zeytinburnu and Mecidiyeköy. Metrobüs stations sit in the middle of the highway and are reached by footbridges, so find out which stations have working lifts before you rely on them. There is no metro or Marmaray station inside the district; the nearest Marmaray stops are across the lake in Küçükçekmece. Buses and minibuses cover the inland neighbourhoods.
Lifts, ramps and boarding help can change from day to day; check with the operator or venue before you rely on them.
Delivery to Avcılar
Avcılar is outside the area our standard delivery and collection service covers, so an additional location-based delivery fee applies, quoted for your exact address. Many buildings here are inside gated complexes, so tell us the complex name, the block, which gate the driver should use and whether security will phone up. Handover is usually at the building entrance or reception. Traffic on the D-100 varies a lot through the day, so a flexible time window makes it easier to agree a slot.

Does delivery to Avcılar cost extra?
Yes. Our standard delivery and collection service covers Fatih, Beyoğlu, Sultanahmet, Taksim, Bakırköy and Zeytinburnu. For Avcılar an additional location-based delivery fee applies on top of that, and you will know the amount before you confirm. Sending the full address, including the complex and block, helps us give an accurate figure the first time.
Can I use the Metrobüs with a rented wheelchair?
Plenty of people try, but stations vary. Access is by footbridge from the pavement, and step-free use depends on lifts or ramps that are not always in service. Vehicles are also very crowded at peak hours. If you plan to ride regularly, look at your local station in person first, and consider a lighter folding chair that a companion can carry if needed.
How much does delivery to Avcılar cost?
Avcılar is outside our standard delivery zone, so an additional location-based fee applies on top of the standard delivery and collection charge. It depends on your exact address rather than the district name and is confirmed with your quote. Send your hotel or street address and dates for a full price before you commit.
